Elinor Stanley (b. 1992) is a British artist, currently completing the postgraduate fine arts programme at the Royal Academy Schools in London. Most recently, Stanley was awarded the Richard Ford Award from the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain.

In «Big Babe», Stanley brings together three new paintings. In these works, broad strokes contrast with intricate details. Stanley juxtapositions the small spectator with an unconscious, lethargic big babe. In these paintings, she questions anxiety and depression, as if the two characters are the same person that is both aware of their behaviour but at the same time unable to realise action. Through these characters, Stanley illustrates different times passing within one painting; Two states of mind separated in time but united on canvas. The pastel tones of her paintings, sometimes contrasted with darkness, broadcast an eerie atmosphere of disconnectedness in between subject-matter and colours.
